Behind the Rebrand: How Digital Women Reinvented Our Look (and How You Can Too)
Rebranding can feel daunting, but it’s also an opportunity to reflect, refine, and step into your next chapter with confidence. At Digital Women, we recently took on the challenge of rebranding to better reflect who we are and what we stand for today.
This blog takes you behind the scenes of our journey. Whether you’re thinking of rebranding your own business or just curious about how we did it, we hope this inspires you to take that next step.
Why We Rebranded
After nearly five years, it was clear our branding needed a refresh. Our original look worked when we started, but as we grew, we realised it no longer reflected the energy and creativity of our community.
We wanted branding that:
- Showcased our longevity and growth.
- Captured the vibrant and dynamic nature of Digital Women.
- Gave us a cohesive identity across all platforms, events, and resources.
The rebrand wasn’t about starting from scratch. It was about evolving into something that represents who we are now and where we’re heading.
How We Approached the Rebrand
1. Starting with Purpose
We began by reflecting on our journey and asking important questions:
- What do we want Digital Women to represent?
- How can our brand support our members better?
- What’s missing in our current branding?
These questions helped us define our mission and goals more clearly, ensuring every design decision aligned with our vision.
2. Using Tools to Simplify the Process
We used Adobe Express to create mood boards, visuals, and brand guidelines. The platform’s templates made it easy to experiment with ideas, refine them, and bring everything together.
3. Designing Our Visual Identity
We focused on creating a look that feels fresh but familiar:
- Colours: We kept our signature lilac (#b2a1ed) and added deep purple and soft white to reflect creativity and professionalism.
- Typography: Pairing Playfair Display with Ubuntu gave us the perfect balance of elegance and readability.
- Icons and Patterns: We introduced fun symbols like flowers, spirals, and stars to add personality across platforms.
- Gradient: A subtle blend of lilac and white to symbolise growth and connection.
4. Documenting Everything
To keep the new branding consistent, we created detailed brand guidelines. These outline how to use our logo, colours, fonts, and elements in everything from social media posts to event banners.
5. Listening to Our Community
We shared sneak peeks and asked for feedback from our members. This ensured the rebrand didn’t just reflect us but also resonated with the people who matter most.
What We Learned
Rebranding is more than just a new logo or colour palette. It’s about realigning with your purpose and telling your story in a way that feels authentic.
We also learned that the right tools make a big difference. Platforms like Adobe Express and Kajabi helped us focus on the creative process rather than getting bogged down by technical hurdles.
How You Can Do It Too
If you’re considering a rebrand, here’s how to get started:
- Know Your Why: Be clear about why you’re rebranding and what you want to achieve.
- Use the Right Tools: Platforms like Adobe Express can simplify the process.
- Think About Your Audience: Make sure your new branding resonates with the people you serve.
- Be Consistent: Document everything in brand guidelines to keep your identity cohesive.
- Stay True to Your Mission: Your brand should feel like an authentic extension of who you are.
The Next Chapter for Digital Women
This rebrand is more than a new look. It’s a commitment to continuing our mission of educating, connecting, and celebrating women in digital.
If you’re rebranding or thinking about it, we hope this blog gives you the encouragement to take that leap. As always, we’re here to share, support, and grow together.
We're ready to make 2025 the one where we all evolve and thrive.
